Concept
“ASENDADA”は、エストニア語で「置き換えられた」という意味を持ちます。
風景や気配、日常の断片を、自身の感覚で捉え直し、
図案へと変換する ──
そうした制作の在り方を象徴する言葉として、
この名前が生まれました。
“ASENDADA” means “replaced” in Estonian.
The name was chosen to reflect our approach to design—capturing and reinterpreting fragments of scenery, atmosphere, and everyday life through a personal lens, and translating them into patterns.
ASENDADAは、テキスタイルを出発点に培ってきた視点や手法をもとに、
パターンデザインやグラフィックを、
プロダクトや空間といったさまざまなスケールへと展開しています。
単なる表面装飾としてではなく、
空間やプロダクトが持つ背景や機能、時間の流れを読み取りながら、
視覚的なレイヤーとして機能するデザインを構築しています。
デザインは、ビジュアルアーティスト・サトウアサミによる表現と思考を基盤としています。
ASENDADA builds on perspectives and methods developed from textiles as its point of departure, extending pattern-based and graphic expressions across a range of scales, including products and spatial environments.
Rather than serving as surface decoration alone, the studio reads the background, function, and passage of time inherent in spaces and products, constructing designs that operate as layered visual systems.
The design is grounded in the artistic practice and thinking of visual artist Sato Asami.
