The first design that I created was shaped like an orange. It was a shape I made simply by paint- ing a rough form in ink on Japanese paper, and then cutting it out. At that moment, it felt like a fresh fruit had just popped out of nowhere, so I continued working on it.

はじめにつくったパーツはオレンジの実みたいな形だった。和紙に墨ベタを塗りそこからカッターでザクッと切り出してできた形だったのだけど、それができた瞬間、新鮮な果実がポンっと生まれたみたいな感覚になってそのまま作業を続けた。
